| 8/22/10 - Jake "Warrior" Merrell wins first MMA fight |
Saturday night  as the rain poured down at the Maury County Fairgrounds, there was one bright spot in an otherwise dismal night. Jake "Warrior" Merrell made his MMA debut. Warrior fought a larger, stronger, more experienced opponent in the octagon and totally dominated the fight. After breaking his opponents will, Jake mounted him in the third round and rained down a flurry of punches resulting in a TKO victory. Way to go Warrior!!! You were awesome!!! |

| Coach conducted belt tests and here are the results. Josiah Pogue, Patrick Saindon and Pablo Morales received their Yellow Belts. Shayne Langford, Cody Pickrell, Darlene Thomas, Alyssa Perez, Alex Anderson, and Michael Pollard received their Orange Belts. McKenzie Lee and Steve Martin received their Green Belts, and Quentin Clemons and Jake Merrell received their Blue Belts. It was a good night for Muay Thai and a big congratulations goes out to everyone who tested. |

| On Saturday, August 7th, we will be watching UFC 117 at Coach's Bar & Grill. Come watch as Middleweight Champ Anderson Silva puts a beating on Chael Sonnen for all his smack talk. Welterweights Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves finally face each other in what should be a high intensity and very technical fight, and Clay Guida, who never disappoints faces off against Rafael Dos Anjos in a lightweight bout. We would like to have a large crowd out on Saturday so everyone needs to be there by 7:30 inorder to get a good seat. |

| Caleb Plant competed in the USA Boxing Nationals last week and we have the results. Caleb is now a member of the USA Adult Amateur Boxing Team. He is also a member of the USA Adult and USA Youth Amateur Kickboxing Team. A big congrats goes out to Caleb for all his hard work. |
7/16/10 - Guardian MMA is now an American Top Team School |
| This weekend, Guardian MMA was honored by the presence of Professor Renato Tavares. Professor Tavares traveled to the Boro to conduct a seminar and inspect Guardian MMA. Coach Doug Frazier is now a Black Belt under Professor Renato Tavares and Warren Grace is a Brown Belt under Professor as well. Following the conclusion of an excellent seminar, Professor Tavares declared Guardian MMA an American Top Team school. This is a great honor bestowed upon our gym and we are very proud to be part of such a great Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association. |

| On Friday July 9th, Coach Doug and Coach Kukuk tested seven students for BJJ promotions. Monty Burke and Eric Yantz successfully earned their Blue Belts. Tony Basso and Steve Martin successfully earned a stripe on their Blue Belts, and Tyler Little, Thomas Nation, and Shayne Langford successfully earned a stripe on their White Belts. Congratulations guys. |
7/5/10 - Gym Closed for 4th of July Holiday |
| Guardian MMA will be closed from July 2-5 for the holdiday weekend. We will reopen at regular time on Tuesday, the 6th. |

| Shane Primm fought in the M-1 Selection Tournament on Saturday, June 26th. He fought Wesley Welch and won by submission via guillotine choke at :37 in the 2nd round. Way to go Shane!!! |

| On Friday, May 7th Josh Kukuk and TJ Burke were awarded their brown belts. Earl Medley was awarded his purple belt. Richard Brinkley and Mark Moghaddam tested for and were awarded their blue belts. | On Saturday April 24th, several of our guys competed in the BJJ tournament in Lynchburg. Travis Robinson got a gold in bpth gi and nogi, Richard Brinkley got a silver in gi and a gold in nogi, and Bryant Gregory gat a bronze in gi. Way to go guys. |

| Coach Cliff Fonseca is no longer coaching at Guardian MMA. He has left to pursue other opportunities and we wish him well in his ventures. Coach Cliff has been with Guardian since the beginning and he will be missed. Guardian MMA has a lot of changes that will be taking place in the coming weeks that we are very excited about. The first change will be a change in our schedule effective starting the first week of April. Check out our schedule page next week for changes. |

| On Saturday, Fevruary 6th , there was MMA action in Murfreesboro, TN. The MTSU MMA Club produced a great fight night with a production to be envied. There were around 20 fights and three title fights during the show. UFC veteran, Ken Shamrock graced the stage and took picture and signed autographs for all the fans. Team Guardian made a great showing with five victories on the night. Billy Tackaberry won his debut match with a 1st round TKO, Jimmie Hayes won with a 2nd round submission, Alex Anderson won via a 2nd round submission, Rick Grundy won via TKO in the 1st round and Chad Koller won with a 1st round submission. Way to go guys!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
